Lamplighters Community Theatre presents The Front Porch
In the spring of 1968, surrounded by increasing racial tensions in her Baltimore neighborhood, Clara, a white widow, stubbornly refuses her daughter’s insistence she move from her home of thirty years. Although she's a bit apprehensive about them, she eventually develops a warm relationship with the black neighbors next-door. When Dr. Martin Luther King is suddenly assassinated, tensions explode throughout the city and both families are caught in the middle of a race riot.
Local playwright, George Bailey, brings us the story of how two women confront their fears and prejudices, become friends, and learn what it truly means to be an American.
