Martinis Above Fourth | Table + Stage presents Carole J. Bufford in Come Together: When the 1960s Meet the 1970s
After a sold out-run of You Don’t Own Me: The Fearless Females of the 1960s, Carole J. Bufford returns to the West Coast with an all new show now exploring the change in the musical landscape from 1965-1975. With music made famous by Cher, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, Dusty Springfield, Otis Redding, Linda Ronstadt, Creedence Clearwater Revival and more, Come Together explores the ever-changing music industry in one of the most exciting, controversial, and impactful ten years our country has ever seen.
“The real thing: you know it when you see it…The way her voice, with its blues inflections, cut a swath, leaving nothing standing, tempts me to describe her with groveling hyperbole as an earthier, more acerbic 21st-century Barbra Streisand.” – Stephen Holden, The New York Times
"Her voice, bright yet sensual, soared...Bufford threw herself into each number; her exuberance and sense of humour won us over from the outset."
-Clive Davis, The Times (UK)
