San Diego Black Ensemble Theatre and Cultural Noire Performing Arts Company, in partnership with Project1VOICE, present the staged reading of the groundbreaking play Home by Samm-Art Williams. The staged reading will honor the 35th anniversary year of the play’s Broadway debut. The fifth annual nationwide 1VOICE/1PLAY/1DAY event will also commemorate another milestone--this one in civil rights---the 150th anniversary of the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Home will feature Monique Gaffney, Tony Hamm and Jacole Kitchen. It is directed by Rhys Green and co-directed by Gina M. Jackson. Doors open at 6:30pm; the reading begins at 7:30pm. Pre-Show Music Entertainment will be provided by local jazz artists Ronnie Williams, Dwight Love, Antar Martin, Jim Guerin and Rhys Green. A Health/Community Fair will be presented by the African American Advisory Council.

General Admission - $10.00 with no service fee
