Award-winning writer Jez Butterworth’s Parlour Song is an oddly eerie and funny look at 40-somethings and the unavoidable mid-life questions.
Parlour Song sets its focus on a demolition expert named Ned who lives in a nice new house in a nice new development on the edge of the English countryside with his lovely wife Joy. It is an ideal middle-class life, not all that different from yours or that of your neighbor. In fact, Ned spends quite a bit of time with his neighbor Dale who also lives in a nice new house in the nice new neighborhood with his nice family, swapping workout tips and stories from their jobs. But lately, Ned’s not sleeping and it may be his imagination, but it seems that item by item, all of his possessions are disappearing.
Note: Adult language and situations.
